History: Cold pressed oils have an ancient history that finds its roots in the Indus valley. The process dates back to nearly 5000 years ago as the oil-pressing machinery was discovered in the ruins of the civilization. You got to give to our ancestors as they were really ahead of their times and probably, had significant insight into the era of cold-pressed groundnut oil.
Even in Sanskrit literature, there is a specific reference to an oil-press, although it was not described. As early as 1500 BC, mortar and pestle were used to grind and extract juices from vegetable materials. These similar systems were further used to extract juice from sugarcanes for making sugar as well as for extracting oil from seeds. Ghani operation has been noted in Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Myanmar, which had cultural ties with India. It was also used to crush sesame seeds in Sudan.
Active Ingredient: Its major component fatty acids are oleic acid, linoleic acid, and palmitic acid. These are energy sources & membrane constituents. The oil also contains some stearic acid, arachidic acid, behenic acid, lignoceric acid and other fatty acids.
